When the books and the bank don’t match.

QuickBooks cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping for owners who are behind, blocked by their CPA, or can’t see job profit. We diagnose first. We do not put you on a monthly plan on a broken file.

The problem

Most owners don’t need another dashboard. They need the file fixed.

The bank balance is one number. QuickBooks is another. Jobs look profitable until payroll hits. The CPA won’t start until someone cleans the mess. Month-end is a guess.

That is catch-up work. It is not a subscription. Desert Elm starts there.

How it works

Review. Reset. Then, if it makes sense, stay.

A diagnostic on the live file: how far behind you are, whether the bank and books tie, and what a cleanup would take.

Ongoing support

Monthly bookkeeping and, when the business is ready, advisory or fractional CFO. Not the front door.

Who we help

Owners with a deadline and a messy file.

Contractors & trades

Job costing that doesn’t exist, retainage that never hits the books, and a bonding or bank request you can’t answer from QuickBooks.

Dental & medical practices

Front desk has been “doing the books.” Deposits, providers, and the bank don’t tell the same story.

Nonprofits

A filing, grant, or board packet is due and the file is months behind.

Based here

Questions

Before you book.

Do I have to start monthly bookkeeping?

No. If the file is broken, we quote a Reset. Monthly work is a separate decision after the books are usable.

Are you my CPA?

No. We clean and keep the books so your CPA can file. If your CPA already refused the file, that is a typical Reset.

How fast can you start?

The Review can happen as soon as we can see the file. Reset timing depends on how far behind you are and how complex the books are.

Do you work outside New Mexico?

Yes, remotely, especially on referral. The public listing is built for New Mexico search.
